Brandon Webb took a no-hitter into the 8th inning at the ballpark as the
Jefferson Park Penguins beat the Dart Weasels by the count of 6 to
1.
Webb(4-0) simply dominated Dart. He gave up just 1 hit and 2 walks in 9
innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.09 to 2.63. The right-handed Webb lost
his chance for a no-hitter when Dave Dellucci homered with one out in the 8th
inning. Jefferson Park finished with 10 hits in the victory.
Roy Oswalt(3-2) absorbed the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3
innings. Webb was obviously very pleased with his performance in the
aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games where everything
worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched another two or three
innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time out!'
